In the 40, 50s, and early 60s, most high school basketball players did not go on to college, But they played in independent, industrial and church leagues. This Hoagland area team started up around 1947 and for six years was sponsored by Herb Reitdorf, owner of the Hayloft. In 1954, Vic Depew, owner of Three Kings Tavern took over sponsorship. Most of this info was provided by Frank Guenin (Hoagland H.S. 1947) who played on this team from 1947 t0 1953. |
