Margaret Jane “Maggie” Martin Hume—was born 3 April 1859 in Monroe Township and married James Harrison Hume in October 1886. A milliner in Monroeville, she was fatally burned after setting her nightdress on fire while lighting a stove in her apartment over her millinery store on South Street. She ran out into the street on fire and died ;Later that night, 11 April 1904 at age 45. She left behind her husband, 18-year old daughter, Hallie and 12-year old son, Arthur. |
